Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (CUNY)

Edited from Wikipedia:

Medgar Evers College was officially established in 1970 through cooperation from educators and community leaders in central Brooklyn.

The College is named after Medgar Wiley Evers (1925-1963), an American activist born in Mississippi. When he was serving  the segregated forces in World War II he decided that fighting for freedom of other countries was absurd when he and fellow Americans were not free because they were sons and daughters of Africa. He fought against segregation and led others in this fight. He was assassinated on June 12, 1963.

The College is a member-school of Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

The College has 4 schools:

-The School of Business
-The School of Professional and Community Development

-The School of Liberal Arts and Education

-The School of Science, Health, and Technology."
