Death of the President of Biafra. SJ Dodgson MJoTA 4(2) p1126

The iroko has fallen. Colonel Ikemba is dead.

Dr Okey Ndibe wrote a story about his childhood during the Biafran War, which he gave MJoTA permission to republish. The horror of the 1967-70 is told by Dr Ndibe. MJoTA tried to put the Biafran War in context then and now, after the death of the leader of Biafra on Nov 26, 2011. Dr Ndibe has featured previously in MJoTA. Read both stories, follow links on front page of http://www.mjota.org/.

Nov 27, 2011. Philadelphia. A High Chief and the husband of a singer had both invited me to the Igbo church. With the death of the Iroko of Biafra, I knew I had to dress in my Umuada Igbo clothes and go to St Cyprians. Beautiful eulogy. Read about Biafran War on http://www.mjota.org/.
