Campbell Dodgson CBE was an English art collector, Oxford graduate, writer, art historian and great uncle of Dr Susanna. He was also curator of prints at the British Museum, and hired Laurence Binyon to work with him in the 1890s. In 1932 he retired and Laurence moved from being assistant curator to curator of prints. Laurence Binyon wrote many poems, but only one that outlived him, For the Fallen. The first few stanzas are not usually read, for obvious reasons, but the third stanza, that starts "They will grow not old" is immortal. As Rudyard Kipling said "Lest we forget".
