Adeola on Nigeria

Adeola: the African family's answer to Jon Stewart. SJ Dodgson. MJoTA v8n1 p0215

I have known Adeola for over 3 years, and watched her politely and unobtrusively interview members of the African family. For over 2 years she has been posting a weekly 30-minute video, Keeping it Real with Adeola.

Adeola is the video conscience of Nigeria, perhaps even of Africa. She finds out who is doing what and who is taking money and outs them. She is a warrior against theft, indiscipline and abuse of power.

In my 8 years of total immersion in African communities, I have constantly been thrilled with the hard work, brilliance, and decency of most Africans. The perhaps 5% who are crooks have been put in place and constantly nurtured by Western, and Eastern interests whose main interest is to keep stealing resources from the air, the ground and underneath the ground of the most fertile continent, the richest continent.

I don't know enough about Dr Ngozi, although I certainly know who she is, and 5 years ago at Columbia University, I listened to her speak. I know she was in the running to be the head of the World Bank, and I know she agreed to be the Finance Minister of Nigeria provided she was paid an astronomical salary in US dollars into an offshore account. I do not know if that still continues. But when I heard that the government official in charge of the currency had no faith in it, I permanently moved out of the Dr Ngozi fan club.

Adeola has reported evidence that Dr Ngozi has disappeared a large sum of money. Watch above. And then listen below as Dr Ngozi speaks to a fawning US audience.
