Annual Health Fair 2009
Africom started a yearly health fair in 2000. Pictures on this page were taken by me, Dr Susanna, at the 2009 9th Annual Africom Health Fair.

One photograph was taken of me with my camera. Below is a picture of a woman in blue with her finger being pricked for a blood test to diagnose diabetes. That woman is me!
Thankfully, it was negative, but diabetes is a disease in my genes and I will be testing for it again this year. And also HIV infection, hypertension, eye disease, foot disease... Health professionals from all over Philadelphia come one day a year and free of charge talk about how to stay healthy to members of African communities.

Below, pictures taken as we walked through the door. The registration desk is to get enough information to help anyone who comes to the fair, we do not ask for addresses, social security numbers, nothing like that. What is important is that if you have a health issue, you contact us.

The pictures show health providers sitting at desks, giving health advice, diagnosis and other information. Outside, all fun. Soccer, shows, vendors selling things.
