Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou: thank you for speaking and singing to us for 86 years, and flying through the cage door. I heard you speak at President Clinton's first inauguration in 1993, and read your books. Maya Angelou, you were one, but you are legion.
"Maya Angelou was an inspiration and a role model. She knew how to get the flowers to grow." Dr Althea V Hankins MD, director of GC Medical Center and Aces Museum, great-niece of Marcus Garvey.
Pictures taken at the 8th Annual Day of Honor May 24, 2014 in Germantown, Pennsylvania.

The day of honor is a lovefest to veterans: Dr Hankins sees her patients and honors veterans because she loves them. All veterans. No exceptions.

All veterans are welcomed and honored with a medal, recognition and a meal. Every event at Aces Museum ends with a cake, celebrating the lives of veterans.
