Camden County New Jersey

Picture below: field in South Camden, in a park reclaimed by the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church from abandoned industry.
Camden County has its own city, Camden, that is avoided by most not working there. On weekends it is pretty much deserted except for homeless folks herded from all other towns in Camden County.

Watch the videos below. You will know why.

The city of Camden is a short drive from my house in Haddonfield, directly down Haddon Avenue.

I moved into my house in Haddonfield with 2 baby boys and their father, an eye surgeon who continues to live and work elsewhere in Camden County.

My little boys Angus Pekala and Miles Pekala started at the Haddonfield public schools; I divorced Dr Pekala, started a bi-continental marriage with a German inventor, gave birth to Allister Blossfeld and Patience Blossfeld Dodgson, and all are now adults.

Would they have survived Camden? Likely not.

Camden County New Jersey: home to the poorest and most dangerous city in the US (Camden) and a wealthy community (Haddonfield). SJ Dodgson. MJoTA 2013 v7n1 p0606

I have lived in Camden County, New Jersey since May 1983. The main road connecting Kings Highway, Audubon to Haddon Avenue is Crystal Lake Avenue; Haddon Avenue starts in Haddonfield and goes through several towns to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.

The maps from Wikipedia show that New Jersey stretches along the coast closest to Pennsylvania. The closest viable city to Camden County is Philadelphia.
