Mission Statement
Our mission is 2-fold:
1. A priority is to provide support for our members' professional growth and career enhancenment.
2. Seeking to improve health care services in Africa.
SLNA
NYT aims to improve the quality of health care in Sierra Leone (SL) and
reduce the spread of malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and other
preventable diseases by:
- Providing
medical equipment and supplies for SL rural health care centers. These
centers provide services for the community with HIV/AIDS testing and
counseling, malaria net distribution, and education on family planning,
nutrition, personal and community hygiene.
- Reaching out to the community with health education.
- Recycling surplus medical equipment from the USA to Sierra Leone
- Support
comprehensive care for the people of SL and their communities through
self-sufficient and sustainable programs by providing:
Health care services
- Academic support
- Community
education on topics such as: water filtration systems, environmental
awareness, community hygiene, nutrition, family planning, HIV/AIDS,
malaria and other preventable diseases.
