I am woman. SJ Dodgson. MJoTA 2013 v7n1 0206
Women
rose in the 1970s in Australia because we were sick of being talked
down to, told we were stupid, told that the most important thing we
could do with our lives was stay married to a man no matter what.
We
always knew that we were capable of
anything in our school for girl geniuses, Sydney Girls High School, so
we were happy when the world caught up with us.
I LOVE Prime Minister
Julia Gilliard and you can listen to her speech here, but listen to
Helen Reddy and Shirley Chisolm first, to get into the mood.
This is for you my fellow girl geniuses Annette Richardson, Gillian Randall Stephens, Janet Merkur, Katharine Symonds, Denise Flint, Sue Hunt Low, Judith Graham Baldwin, Irene Mantel, Robyn Emery Roe, Diane Carol McGrath Brennan, Dale Cadwell Williams, Judy Greenfield, Belinda Webster, Lee Brown Rhiannon, apologies if I left you out. I am so proud of all
of us. Where we came from, where we have been, where we are going.
